My friends dilemna.

My friend just got a mac for free, he's not big on anything but games so here's what we want to do.

We've already started to find a way to run a windows emulator on his mac
1.We want a w/less way of routing an internet connection from his family windows PC to his personal MAC.
2.He wants to find out how to upgrade his mac to run this new MMO game I've downloaded, which I'll burn for him in good time, should he need to in order to run the game, if that's possible.
3.I know nothing about Macs and has only a rudimentary knowledge on all areas of PC's as it is, is there a site that'll let me learn what I'd need to in the future so I don't have to bug /comp/?

In the future, don't get a mac. Not even a free one.

He wanted it for normal games but after he saw the game I was playing he said "Get my mac to run that game"

If he has a Pentium on the mac, couldn't he install Windows then? someone please confirm this.

Most disks newer games come on can be installed on MAC and Windows.  Macs aren't really for gaming though. Plus, they aren't really upgradable. Which is the major downside to macintosh. The only thing they are really used for, and should be used for, is digital media.

At any rate, you should get a wireless dongle for each computer.  You'll need to install the appletalk protocol on the windows machine in order for it to communicate to the macintosh, and configure the wireless dongles and create an ad-hoc network so the two can talk to eachother.  You may just want to get one dongle and a wireless router, if you plan on going wireless in the near future. 

With two wireless dongles you'll have to configure the windows machine for internet connection sharing. You can do this with the network setup wizard in the network places properties.

As far as upgrading there's not much you can do.  Try running the game with the lowest graphics settings possible.
