Best Media Player?

hay guys.

I've been using winamp to play all my music files and zoomplayer for my videos without knowing why.

In what way is windows media player inferior to other media players?

wmp is full of fail and cancer, (it really is, i have seen source code, which looked like this: fail--cancer--fail--cancer.  it was weird)

Media Player Classic for Windows, mplayer for Lunix

VLC, and MPC when it fails.

MPC on Windows, Totem (just for its good loos) fallbacking to mplayer when it fails on linux. Rhythmbox for the music.

WMP sucks because it phones home, it delivers advertisement, and its data files contain executable content (malware ahoy). Also, there was a big woohaboob about the unannounced license change in 2002, which basically allows Microsoft to come into your hardware and rape your data anally.

WMP sucks sure there's an download for WMP but it just get dropped to C:\Program Files\, it phones home, and it's CLOSED SOURCE, which means that it is a BINARY package.

Coolplayer is pretty tiny and good I think.  I think it can't play .wma though, which really pisses me off since I like it.

I hear CCCP is good for all media needs, but I've never tried it.

IMO the best video player is vlc player. Plays everything. Even some corrupted videos
