DVR recording

Hey guys, how do I get the recordings from my DVR onto my computers HD? I'm not sure if it matters but I'm using the Cox DVR. Thanks

when i called them, they told me the USB on the back was deactivated. if you get a high def cable box, and get an HDMI cord and an HDMI card for your computer, that might work. or you could get a TV capture card and do it through analog but lose a lot of quality.
