Problem with saving images in Firefox

Name: MLF 2007-06-25 15:59 ID:1nJxJ4G7

I'm having a few problems saving some images with Firefox.
Sometimes I'll right-click, save image as.. and save a pic. However when I go to open the image (in FF)it'll just be a line of text e.g.
file:///C:/desktop/filenameofimage.jpg
It doesn't seem to matter what I open it in, nothing can open the image. Then I check the properties of the image and it'll only be 1kb in size (no wonder nothing opens it!)
Has anyone had any similar problems to this?
What is it that causes this, and is there a way to 'fix' it?
Any help is welcomed as google isn't helping much (I guess I'm not using the correct search criteria)

Is it every picture or is it only certain ones that you download off of 4chan (for example)?

I haven't been able to fully prove it nor explain how it works exactly, but I notice that when I click on a particular image that was posted on 4chan and save it right away, the picture will obviously save onto my computer.  But if I click on an image and leave it up on a new page/tab/whatever there's a chance that the image won't actually save onto the computer even though you go to "save" it.

I think what it is is that when you click on an image to view it, it'll download to a temp folder just to bring it up on Firefox.  When you save it, it will draw it from the website server and actually download to your computer.  But if you have an image up after, say, a thread the image was posted on was deleted, you go to save it and it doesn't actually have anything to draw from.

Though I have no real idea how any of this shit works, my vote is that you're trying to save an image that was deleted before you could actually save it.

That's pretty much exactly what's happening.. I'm sure it's the tabs that are open for a longer time that this occurs to.

Don't change these.
