Desperate help needed.

I don't get it. I have a pc that works fine... and I want to put the hd that I'm using in it, into another pc. But everytime I do, it says the same thing, "A disc read error occured, ctrl+alt+del to restart". What could be wrong? I find nothing online that really helps.

Another thing, when I try to start it with my other HD and a burned copy of student edition XP, it says, "unmountable_boot_volume 0x000000ed 0x00000032". I found some tutorials on this but nothing works. It says to go into the setup mode and repair... well it doesn't even go to setup, even when I put the first boot option to cd-rom and turn bios memory shadow off. WHAT DO I DO?!?!?!
