Live CD

Linux seems like it takes a long time to boot when it's coming off of a live cd. If I install it to my hard disk, does it boot faster? thanks

if you can't figure that shit out just by thinking for a second you probably shouldn't be using a computer at all

yes it will boot faster if you boot from a hard drive or usb drive and performance will be better after booting. For maximum performance get a live distro that loads into ram like

1. Damn small inux
2. Feather linux
3. puppy linux

For maximum performance -- never reboot.

thats like asking if windows boots faster off of an HD
