Firefox not opening .torrent files

Name: Anonymous 2007-05-28 12:38 ID:ArJcnEsX

I used to store utorrent.exe on my C drive and had it pinned to the start menu, and whenever I opened a .torrent file in firefox it would auto-open in utorrent.  Now, however, I have utorrent.exe stored on my external HD (since this drive houses all of my BT-related media), and whenever I try to open a .torrent file in firefox, it reports that it "could not be opened, because an unknown error occured" because it is trying to open it from my temporary files.  Right now I just copy the .torrent location and CTRL+U in utorrent, but it would be nice if I could just click to open.  However, I don't want to move utorrent.exe over to my C drive for practical reasons.  Any suggestions?

i would bet the problem is that utorrent needs to have the .torrent extension reregistered to utorrent in it's new place - right now your computer goes to look for it on the c drive and goes WTF, it isn't there!

... as far as actually helping you, i can't - but i hope i've given you a good start!
