v4 ps2 quickeject issues

Hi guys. I have a v4 PS2 with a no-solder chip in it. I have the swap magic discs and stuff, and have successfully played imports on it. A month later, I attempted to use it again for playing an import (Berserk) and the quickeject (hold down eject) failed to work, just giving me an amber light for 5sec and returning to green. The PS2 works fine otherwise, just not quickejecting, which is needed to swap discs. Has anyone else had this problem and what did you do to fix it?
