I've decided: this is what I want. I want to learn as much as I can outside of school / before school starts up. What can I do to get started?

What school and what degree program? Don't work yourself out of a position either. Having a masters in computer science doesn't make you a programmer, it means you write books about computational theory.

I'm leaning towards Software Engineering at the moment. I'm still doing some research, like from hxxp://www.bls.gov/

Software Engineering it is. Does anyone have any noteworthy websites?

A Masters in Software Engineering will not likely be that helpful if you already have a CS background.

Software Engineering is quite boring but at least you don't need to actually know that much, the field is full of paradigm shifting buzzworks and marketcrap these days. You'll probably learn something useful from studying Computer Science, though.

The only foreseeable use for a MSSE is a marginal bump in pay. Either MBA or MSCS would likely be a better investment of time/money.

No, I want a MSCS, but I want to DO software engineering.
