Japanese and Firefox (help, plz)

Hi, I'm having problems with Firefox and Japanese. How can I make it so that I can read Japanese web sites instead of having all those question marks flocking my screen? Is it something I can do directly from Firefox or do I have to get some extension?

Install on XP: Control Panel, Regional, 2nd tab, check stuff, ready a Windows install CD.
