Okay, so my friend's computer runs Windows XP SP2, and awhile ago he installed the vista transformation pack on it. I tried opening the command prompt on this computer, and it wasn't there. It turned out that the entire C:/windows/system32 folder was missing.
So what I want to know, is //windows/system32 required by Windows XP? And could this missing directory be something caused by installing the VTP or part of a larger problem?

He probably has windows installed in a different folder. Check the value of the Systemroot environment variable.

He probably deleted his system32 directory as instructed by helpful world4ch members.
