I'm planning on getting this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?item=N82E16836116153
with this motherboard: http://www.newegg.com/product/product.asp?item=N82E16813131045

Will I need a 7.1 channel sound card or no?

Depends on whether the ADI AD1988B chipset produces shit sound or not

You don't need a computer at all.

But if you want sound that isn't glitchy with support for 7.1 surround, yes.

I don't know why you're coming to this forum when you already have the answer.
