ntfs-3g motherfuckers, you use it?

ntfs-3g v20070920-BETA - Third Generation NTFS Driver

Is it reliable?

i use it, but mount my partitions read-only for extra safety

it seems to make more sense to me to install the ext2fs ifs driver and access linux partitions from windows

Except Windows sucks and that driver crashes all the time.

The ntfsprogs driver is more stable than the Windows NTFS driver and has by far fewer bugs.

I'd stay far far away from ntfs-3g though, it's run by some people that don't value correctness as highly as the ntfsprogs team, and why use ntfs-3g when ntfsprogs has all its features?

My Linux partitions are JFS or ReiserFS, not ext2/ext3...

Thanks for the insight; does ntfsprogs handle writing? The reason I'm having a look at ntfs-3g is I need to write to my NTFS partitions. Well, not absolutely need, but it would be very nice if I could.

I've just been using it to move about 90gb of mp3's from my external hard drive on Windows to another one connected to my Linux router via Samba.  No problems.  So, it's reliable.
