rattling cpu fan?

Name: baffled idiot 2007-04-05 2:52 ID:OzIJTXJN

The fan on the heat sink for my processor rattles like mad during startup and when it starts to heat up in there and the fan has to run harder. If I touch the corner (not the blades duh) the rattling stops, when I lift my finger it starts again. Really annoying and disturbing, I just bought this thing yesterday so it should be brand new unless the place I got it was selling something used without mentioning it.

Am I going to have to replace the whole processor or is there some kind of computer glue that'll fix it in place? I don't plan to try to fix it myself as I am a spastic ape but I don't want to get fucked over when I bring it in to have it repaired. it's an AMD 64x2 dual core processor 4600+ on an asus m2npv-vm motherboard.

Find a Philips screw driver
Tighten screws that hold fan to heatsink
???
Profit.

Now if that does not work your heatsink probably has a bad fan, so just take it back and have them change the heatsink. It's not exactly hard to change the heatsink, plus give them hell due to they should of fixed it when they tested your computer before they sold it to you.
