System Restore

My laptop came with a system restore partition on it, and I want to format it, If I do is it going to format it back into space on my C: drive or is going to be a chunk of blank space still in a separate partition?

It'll end up as a blank space. You could use partition magic or some other partition software to resize your C: to take over that empty space
