Hypothetical question here.
If i was to buy a new mobo to upgrade, would i have to reformat any hard drives i have currently connected to my old mobo?

But you will have to reinstall Windows

you may have to reinstall.
Sometimes the drivers for the mobo work with the new one and you don't need to reinstall, sometimes not.
I've had it go both ways for me on various upgrades.

I have a huge problem.
I'm trying to play a game on my computer but whenever I start it up it's saying it fails to initialize DirectX Audio. I must've done something to it when removing programs in the control panel. Is there some way I can repair or get a new DirctX Audio system or something? I'm not good with this kinda thing so  could really use the help.

Don't change these.
