burn dvd to play in standard dvd player

My little brother wants to see the banned Pokemon episodes, thing is he wants to see them on the TV's DVD player.  I can get the episodes easy enough, but how do I go about burning a DVD so it can play on a standard DVD player?  Thank you

Use your favourite burning software, or DVD authoring software.

The DVD player might not like the recordable media, but it otherwise _should_ work.
