Network woes.

I'm trying to connect my XBox 360 to my network at home.  Basically, it's a DSL router.  It's going from the router to my computer via USB.  There's also four ethernet ports in the modem/router dealy, and I have those hooked up to my XBox.

For some reason though, my Xbox won't recognize a connection.  Is there any specific settings I have to use?  I'm using an Actiontec DSL modem/router.

Oh, for some reason, my Xbox says it's "Disconnected" when it's plugged in, but the lights on the modem say it's working.

sounds like you're using a patch cable. you need a straight cable

use a crossover-cable if you are using a patch-cable and vice versa

Alright, I'll try a crossover cable.  Shouldn't it be a regular cable though?  It's going from a router to an XBox.  My friend uses a router to a switch to an XBox, and he doesn't use any crossover cables.
