Should I build a hackintosh?

Hay /comp/,

I have money to throw around and I want a better mac than my Mini. However, I am not homosexual yet so I can't buy an overpriced box from Steve. I'm thinking of making a custom-built Hackintosh, but I can't figure out whether it's a good idea to do it because all the osx86 information available on the Internets seems to be outdated so I don't know what to expect in terms of very long-term stability and annoyances. (would I be still be able to update the software regularly in 3 years for example?)

Here's what I need from that computer:
1. Running the last major version of OS X at all times
2. Running Parallels
3. Running Opera
4. Supports dual-screen
5. Supports about 20 USB devices at the same time (told you about the money thing) - stupid mini whines about it no matter what setup of powered hubs I use

Should I build it or bend over? Your opinion is appreciated.

You need an iMac

Upgarding to an iMac wouldn't be much of an upgrade. When I bought my mini it had the same specs as the least expensive iMac. Anyway, there's a display in those things. I already have (better) displays.

If Steve wouldn't mind selling me something right between the iMac and the Mac Pro, without a display, I'd probably buy, but looks like those marketing geniuses think that somebody who won't shell out $2000 but is too cheap for the $500 box is way too much of a dumbshit to connect a screen to a box. Mac Pros are way too expensive for what they offer anyway. I want to spend about $1300 but not on a display.
