IDE slave

Im having a hard time using my SATA HD as master and the IDE as a slave.  It keeps trying to to boot the IDE as the master, and I cant figure out how to change it in bios since it all automatically detects the drive settings.  Im just trying to get files off the IDE drive. Any suggestions? Its a new PC and there is noting even plugged into the Blue IDE slot, and I tried plugging into the secondary IDE under the CD drive but that didnt work either.

Yes, I am a fexxin noob at this...

Needs moar "Boot order", "First/Second boot device", "BIOS settings" or whatever your BIOS setup calls it.

Well from what it looks like, it takes everything in the IDE slots as boot drives 1 -4, then the SATA slots as 5-8, I cant figure out how to change this

why the hell would you want to set an IDE as slave to a SATA?  wouldn't it make more sense to hook the SATA to a SATA bus and set the IDE as a master on the IDE bus?  makes a hell of a lot more sense, and is actually physically feasible for someone of your obvious technical competence.

Yes well the problem would be with it booting from the IDE instead of the SATA..

Don't change these.
