Computers for the people ???

Name: Anonymous 2007-02-27 8:34 ID:vy1YKIiv

DISCUSS: People should have to pass a test before they're allowed to use or own a real computer.

Everyone who fails gets a terminal/thin client/webtv box to read email, edit text, make appointments and browse the web; that's all 99% of people do anyway.

Games?? Thats what consoles are for.

In before Operafags

also COCKS

Good idea.
Everyone needs to pass tests about Windows, DOS, Linux and MacOS (maybe OpenSolaris and *BSD, too).

Except for E-Mail storage and stuff the terminal/thin client/webtv/whatever has read-only filesystems.

User must know how to reboot a crashed Windows box.
Must know not to click on "brothersisterpoolfuckingbrittanyspearsredheadass.mpg.avi.jpg.mov.exe
user must actively work to only reduce the number of word-perfect documents in the world
user must never have the only copy of anything exist on a floppy
the user does not have "an internet" to call their own

Age for an excellent idea

Only one thing is required to be a useful computer user: a little confidence in RTFM and Google. You can learn everything you need to if you just have the motivation to look it up yourself.

You do know you don't have to have email as age to age, right?

My dear anon, when users (or lusers as we say) get a little knowledge they get to thinking they're qualified to admin their own box because "I saw this great reghack/$whatever online". This is what needs to be prevented.

When your car doesn't run right you go to a mechanic.
When you break a bone you go to the Docs.
And etc.
So why do so many people think they're qualified to fix a computer?
Better they not touch a real machine in the first place,

Q:  75 NUDE BLACK FAGGOTS WITH HARD-ONS ARE OBSTRUCTING YOUR PATH THROUGH THE DARK TWISTING CORRIDOR.  WHAT DO YOU DO?

A:  Restrict computer access to the experts.

The age is used for placing emphasis to age; I really want to age this post.

Hmm, this is a hardone.. if all the lusers go away, there would be very few real lols. And it would make about 99% of all it-supporters unemployed.
But it would be nice to get rid of all the morons.

Firefox is an excellent browser for first-time computer users, because of its lack of security vulnerabilites and user-friendliness!

Don't change these.
