Internet Service

Right now I'm paying $40 a month for Comcast cable internet.  My apartment is going to be setting up free wireless internet for tenants and they aren't going to be increasing rent.  Is this a good deal?  Or would I be better off staying with cable? I'm mainly concerned about security and download speed.
