I've used it extensively. The only useful part of that whole business is the Cube

You can have special effects in Opera. Shift-F12, check "Enable Special Effects"

Is Beryl the same piece of shit of a waste of performance and RAM than Windows Vista is?

Name: Anonymous 2007-02-17 22:25

yeah, but its a prettier piece of shit that doesn't waste quite as much resources as Vistaids.

Beryl doesn't really take that much RAM/CPU, and it can look BETTER than Vista. Why Aero eats up so much resources just for a few effects id beyond me.

There's only one thing that really interests me: does Beryl get rid of window flicker when changing virtual desktops?

With normal window managers, app windows always refresh when being redisplayed, which causes that annoying flicker. I'd give a lot to hit a button and *BANG* have the new desktop and all contained apps already displaying.

0.1 sec doesn't count. It has to be immediate.

Linux doesn't support games. As long as this doesn't change, we don't care about the other shit.

Don't change these.
