Fuck Dell...

First my video card fan stops working.  Then I have a major hard drive crash and because my computer is out of warranty they won't reinstall Windows... but I'll consider that a good thing.  All I ever did in Windows that I couldn't do in Linux was EverQuest, and I can use Jeskola BuzzTracker in WINE.  But now I hear what appears to be the inner-case fan (some fan that's only inside the computer, not visible to the outside, I guess to strategically direct the airflow toward the fans that do move air to the outside) breaking down.  That "fwwish-fwwish-fwwish-fwwish-" sound.

I know Dell manufactures their computers full of cheap parts.  But is it possible that the bass in the music I listen to could have contributed to the speeding-up of the deaths of these motorized parts?  No, it's not hip hop, I hate rap.  Listen to Yellow Magic Orchestra's "Tong Poo" to see what I mean.

The bass probably would kill other things before it kills the fans.
Lurk hardware forums and build a quality PC. It's not very hard to do.

   I think it's time you took the sides off that box and checked your fans for dust buildup.
