The Ultimate Computer Problem Guide

Name: Anonymous 2007-02-11 9:35

This guide will fix all problems with your computer, no matter what.

1. Get a dual core processor, it is better. If you think otherwise, your logic is retarded.
2. Install Gentoo Linux (with mad CFLAGS) and following that, Opera (it's dropped to /opt/, but that's something you'll have to stomach).
3. Recompile your kernel (do it several times just to make sure).
4. Still having problems? be a man and challenge me! TeamSpeak download: www.goteamspeak.com TeamSpeak Server: ts.curse-x.com:9797

Feel free to add anything I missed!

Are you sure, I can't see how that would help?

You forgot whining to Windows software developers with "Does this work in Linux?".  Do this every time a new awesome program comes out.

Awesome programs, for Windows?  It is very unlikely.

Name: Anonymous 2007-02-12 0:38

"It is very unlikely."

So is Gimp.

It's more likely than you think
Linux lacks a good image editor. Windows has at least two very good ones. Let's hope Krita improves.

Its not gimp thats not good enough, its the people trying to use it.. Pro stuff can be made in gimp, but only by pro people..

Pro stuff can be made by pro people in MSPaint, too.  Doesn't make it a good idea.

GIMP and Fast = DOES NOT COMPUTE

While I'm not >>10 I've used GIMP and think it sucks.

Name: Anonymous 2007-02-12 22:05

Gimp's a lot faster than it used to be.

Yet thanks to the UI it still takes a lot longer to get anything done.

apt, start an image editor war

Name: Anonymous 2007-02-13 2:39

Everything can be done with ImageMagick.

GIMP sucks. There's a thread to discuss why, but mostly, the interface being made of random shit instead of a main window with docked toolbars; this random shit is HUEG, fits poorly, and keeps overlapping with the piece of shit you're working with, so to use GIMP effectively, you need two monitors. All this just for GNU/GNOME's obsession with being different from Windows. And I said use GIMP effectively, but it's not quite so, as some of its key features are so braindamaged (probably, again so they can be different because "GNOME does not have to be Windows" hippy shit), GIMP is very unproductive. On top of that, it's also slow as fuck to even save files.

lol at adobe fanboys who expect GIMP guys to shit up their software by cloning photoshop

Name: Anonymous 2007-02-13 14:15

>>21
yes you won't be able to run them at all; problem solved
thanks for trolling

Name: Anonymous 2007-02-13 14:48

As long as the games aren't dropped to /opt, Gentoo will make them perform much better.
