UK ISPs

Hi /comp/.

I am currently looking for a new ISP, but I am having a bit of trouble - it seems most ISPs kind of suck.

I am currently with v21, who suck loads and have multi hour downtimes. I was eyeing up Pipex, but apparently that ISP has gone downhill recently also. Tiscali apparently cap torrent and p2p usage, and Freedom2surf are apparently pretty shit too.

Are there any good ISPs left in the UK? Do you know of any, /comp/? If so, please name them - I don't like 6 hour downtimes, lack of internet makes me twitch.

Demon, Nildram or Zen. All good.

Eeer - Demon and Nildram are both owned by the Pipex group, and Zen don't offer uncapped broadband.

I was looking through those ukrtc peoples terms of service, and I saw this paragraph - is it a Bad Thing, or a standard clause for these kinds of TOS?

"21. Generally, our customers use the service responsibly, but it must not be used:

a) fraudulently or in connection with a criminal offence or in any other way which is unlawful;

b) in contravention of any licence or third party rights, or in contravention of our Acceptable Use Policies ;

c) to send, knowingly receive, upload, download, or use any material which is offensive, abusive, indecent, defamatory, obscene or menacing, or in breach of copyright, confidence, privacy or any other rights;

d) to cause annoyance, inconvenience or needless anxiety;

e) in any way which we reasonably think is, or is likely to be, detrimental to the provision of the service to you or any of our customers.

You agree to take all reasonable steps to make sure that this does not happen."

section c) doesn't include pornography, right?

>>6, methinks if that were to be followed, they had no customers.
