So I'm trying to install xfree86-common as a .deb package, it has a package conflict, through the process of elimination I figured out it's x11perf, but to uninstall that would uninstall like 40 applications. Should I apt-get -f to install or just grit my teeth and uninstall all those apps?

ok I just ran apt-get install with it and it returned the package is not available but is reffered to by another package, blah blah however the following packages replace it x11-common xrgb xinit.
I'm gonna try installing those and see if they'll work as a replacement.

ok.. they're already installed.
So I'm still just wondering if I should just force it to install
