connect printer to two computers

i want to ask can i connect my printer to two seperate computers using the two different ports from my printer, one is a parallel and the other is usb, so that each port is connected to each of my pcs, will there be any problems?

This works on some printers.  I've done this on recent HP OfficeJet models as a simple alternative to shared print services where no network currently exists.

Wrong.  Print server is nice, but unnecessary in this instance for just 2 computers as long as the printer supports it.

That's the same as having an external print server box, except you pay more for the printer and have to throw it away when the printer dies. At least an external print server can go from printer to printer over the years.

PROTIP: Just do printer sharing! Sure, the 'host' computer has to be on if the 'client' computer wants to print, but that's how they roll down in the hood.
