fukken Dell... how to remove vid card?

Name: Anonymous 2007-01-22 0:40

I need to remove my video card from my Dell XPS Gen 3 but it has this green plastic thing locking it in (instead of, oh, the usual way of just screwing the card in like normal).  How the shit do I unlock it so I can remove the card?

They add that plastic so that you have to call them and they add a video card that cost more for less. That's why it's better building your own from the start so you don't have to deal with that hassle.

I figured it out and removed it.

Now I need to remove this faulty fan from my video card.  The fan device is hooked up via 3 small wires (white, black, red) but I don't know if the plug is disconnected on the fan module or on the video card.  Both seem to not want to budge at all.

God I got thermal paste on my hand.  I hope it isn't cancerous.

Either, usually the one in the card.

OMG call the emergency services IMMEDIATELY! Thermal paste is made with inactive Asian bird flu virii, which, being small, it fills the holes left by the much larger paste molecules; thanks to it, being more continuous, it conducts heat better.

Just kidding, just wash your hands.

Don't change these.
