IP blocklisting is the most bullshit swiss-cheese security I've ever seen. Only in the dumb-ass world of P2P could it even be called "security."
Sure, it's nice to be able to make sure that you aren't just letting people from certain IP ranges connect to you, but it's like everybody's hoping that everyone at the RIAA, MPAA, etc. can only connect to the internet from within some IP range that can be known by "trusted list updaters" at any given time. Ooooh, however else would they get on the internet to obtain the info they need to sue your ass??? Because it's impossible to get internet through Yahoo DSL, AOL, or the damn library these days.
