I've got an iPod, and yes, I want to put videos on it, but of course they aren't .mp4, and I need a good converter or some other method of making videos compatible.

just rename the extension to .mp4 and it'll work fine. this cool website called www.oprah.com has some great guides on renaming your files. be sure you are using internet explorer to access this site, from linux (get it at www.linux.com) for best results.
