Hey /comp/ before I decided to pull this into /g/ as a support thread, i'd might as well ask here. I recently finished off my last Norton protection subscription since the year ended. However, Norton takes up too much memory, and frankly costs money. What free anti-virus programs can you recommend to me online? I've heard em before on /g/ but I do not remember the names, thanks.

AVG Antivirus by Grisoft - I've been using it for a year & it's caught everything so far.  It has daily updates, has a very small footprint, and it's fast.  I wouldn't let Norton or McAfee anywhere near my system these days.

Of course he's an idiot. Otherwise he wouldn't need an anti-virus in the first place.
