PDA recommendations

Hey everyone - I'm looking for a nice PDA. I really don't know much about them at all, and I just did a quick Google for PDA reviews and found the Palm T|X which, to me looks like a really nice handheld device.

The biggest features for me are the size, battery life and expansion features (SD cards, wireless 802.11b and bluetooth mostly). Being able to play MP3s, having access to all the different free Palm OS programs I can find online plus the PIM stuff that's built in and the 'grafitti' handwriting recognition which I hear is good is making me really want this. It looks pretty small, and one review I saw said the battery would last for 5 days! That sounds incredible to me. Anyway, I wanted to know if any of you had any recommendations for any kind of PDA, or if you have used this one could you give your thoughts on it? Mostly I'm looking for a simple PIM type of device, but I would definitely love all the other features that this has.

My only one concern is that I can't use it as a phone too, but to be honest I hardly ever use my phone - if there's a device as good as this that also provides phone service I might consider it, but this is primarily for PIM type stuff - the cellular addition would be soley for convergence - but I'd rather not sacrifice any other features that I've seen on this model just to add the phone feature. Thanks for any feedback!

I have a palm Z22 and love it, I am about to order it as soon as I kill someone that made a bad check out to me.
I have had lots of fun playing with a friends TX

You can easily get 5 days of PIM use out of it, or less if you listen to a lot of music, watch movies or games.

And I love the simplicity and use of all the PIM stuff, I was tempted to look at dell's pdas, but after playing with mobile windows I would willing sacafrice some power and multitasking for a palm devise. (palm os hands down beats windows for PIM)

BTY, you can attach a mic to the connector on the bottom and use a beta of skype for a kinda phone i guss.

Oh, and I liiked, the best place to buy the TX is from newegg for $265, or from palm for $300, but you get the $60 folding keyboard and overnight shipping, compusa has a plan that will cover broken screens from accidents if you need that.

Ask if you have other questions!
And sorry for the random grammer.

Thanks for the reply. I work at a best buy so I'm going to check out my discounted price there, but yeah I saw the nice price at newegg and somewhere else online for even a little less. I do want to ask though whether or not you (or anyone) would recommend a screen protector. I have a DS and have played it pretty hard, and you can only notice very minor, light scratches on the second screen, and only when it's turned off. I'm thinking by the time the screen is noticably scratched it would be time for a new machine anyway, but I don't know.

Ah, also I wanted to ask about that keyboard- I saw pictures, and it looks like it actually folds to the size of the palm. How is it? Worth getting? Thanks again.

Don't change these.
