WRT54G v5 Problem

Name: Anonymous 2006-12-19 19:43

For the past couple of days for some unknown reason web pages stop loading at random.  I can't load anything online, but my bt client keeps downloading (utorrent).  At first I thought my ISP (cox) was up to something again (phone/interweb went down for nearly a full day a while back because they're fucktards) so I did my usual routine of shutting off my modem/router and turning them back on.  It'd work every time for a few minutes, then I'd get the same problem all over again.

Finally, I decided I'd try changing my static IP I set up for this computer.  I loaded up FF and checked google, it worked.  Great, now all I had to do was log into my router settings and change a few port forwarding configurations to my new IP.  When I logged in, the entire interface was scrambled.  Confused, I reloaded a few times to no avail.  I tried again in Internet Explorer, this time it worked.  I changed it, clicked "save", then when it reverted back to the port forwarding screen it was borked again!  I refreshed, then refreshed again, and finally it fixed itself.

After all this transpired, I realized that it must be something to do with my router.  When the internet wasn't working, I assumed it had to do with my ISP, even though my modem didn't show any signs of a missing connection (all the little green lights were on).  Is there anything I can do to fix my router?  Or am I going to have to shell out some dough for a new one?

HAHA you failed bitch, go hired some geek squards from bestbuy hahaha haha but seriously talking i think it might be some bug because i run on WRT54G version firmware 4.30.5 bc i think that v5 has some bug issues in which makes me unable to play steam games. It could also be that your linksey's configuration be set incorrtly?  And why dont you try to DHCP release and renew it, too

The latest firmware release for the wrt54g v5 is v1.01.1.

I'd give you a lesson on grammar and spelling, but somehow I feel that it'd be a waste of time.
