pirating Windows XP

Name: Anonymous 2006-12-13 0:15

I am trying to pirate windows xp. I've downloaded like 5 diffrent versions, both home and pro, but I can't get any of them to install. They all go on about missing or corrupt files or don't boot at all. I know the computer works because I can get Damn Small Linux to boot.

Is there a certain way I have to burn the ISOs?

God, how old are you? 9?

Burn the ISO as an image file onto the disc with whatever software gets the job done. If you're having trouble finding a good ISO, go do a search at Torrentspy or something.

I have found torrents with isos that have TONS of comments saying they work, but 10 or 20 minutes into the install I will get "[yadda yadda] is missing or corrupt, setup can not continue" or it will just start saying "can not copy [blah blah blah], press enter to try again, esc to skip, etc" and it will start saying that for ALL the files...

What am I doing wrong?

You stupid son of a bitch, this is not a support board.  This is a board for discussing Linux and other cool things (not Beryl, etc.).

I seriously don't know how anyone could fail burning an ISO correctly, so I suppose you just need to get AN ACTUALLY WORKING COPY.

Chinese copies work...oh wait they're in fucking chinese ... and you have to go to China...

Get a linux OS

I've been using Linux (ironically, because I'm too stupid to pirate winxp), but the thing is I want to play games. Someone will say something about wine, but the thing is I want to play little-known online japanese games who's real servers have been shut down so people have made versions of the game that run on unofficial servers. Most don't work in wine and I have to jump through hoops to get the ones that do to work. When someone says to me, "Hey, wanna play [game]?" I want to be able to just play, not say "Sure, hold on for half an hour while I get it to work... there we go, oops it crashed" until they're bored of it and go do something else.

Jeez guys, I just asked if there was a certain way I needed to burn the iso. Is that such a crazy thing to consider, when you need to burn Dreamcast isos a certain way? As I said the torrents had comments from tons of other people saying they worked, so I thought maybe I was burning it wrong; is that such a far-fetched conclusion?

I apologize for asking you guys to take time out of your busy day of trolling and copy/pasting to help me a little. I managed to get winxp installed anyway, so screw you all.

telediagnostics suck
get yourself someone in your local area to help you IN REAL LIFE

the problem shouldn't be the "burning" except there is some weird error with your cd/dvd recorder
if you burned several releases from the internets that are verified to work and they are corrupted...could be your recorder.
maybe let someone else burn a copy for you.

if that doesnt help its a weird problem with your PC that has to be figured out IN REAL LIFE
cause we wont jump through a gazillion hoops here to do so on a textboard

So what am I suppose to do, go up to random people on the street and say "Hey, can you help me pirate windows xp?" or ask Best Buy for help? I don't have any friends, that's why I'm on 4chan.

Try swapping the burner or something. We can't solve EVERYTHING on a text board over the internets.

oh lol
is the situation so grim in the US that ppl only know best buy and other conglomerates of shit?
what about small PC shops that accommodate to your interests...

if some shop in eurofag land would complain or report end user piracy it "could" close down due to the lack of customer trust
privacy of the customer > piracy of the customer
of course not in leading big chains of shops

well the fact that you have no friends or other social contacts you can trust is NOT 4chan's problem
