Music lag

Hey guys, I got a question.
I had a problem with my laptop (HP dv5220), long story short, I had to format and download every single driver from the HP website and most things seem to work fine except for the music. If I turn the volume up the computer stars lagging like crazy in every single app and even when I don't touch anything.
The conexant AMC audio is the latest version, no virus or spyware so I have no idea what's the problem is, any suggestions?

Control Panel-->Sound And Audio Devices-->Volume Tab-->Speaker Settings-->Advance... Button-->Performance Tab-->Change settings downward until something works.
