Using a notebook HD for a PC

Name: Anonymous 2006-11-27 16:41

Is it possible to run an otherwise normal desktop PC on a 2.5 inch notebook hard drive?  I have a dying laptop that I just bought a new hard drive for and I would hate to let it go to waste, and I'm sick of dealing with laptops.

While we're on the topic of salvaging laptop parts, would it be at all possible to take a Compaq Presario 2500 laptop LCD screen and converting it into a really ugly computer monitor?

Laptop hard drives are particularly slow and low in capacity.  Consider seling or trading it off and buying a fast and large 3.5" hard disk with a longer life expectancy for pennies per GB.

If you do use the laptop hard drive, avoid using it for your OS or swap file if possible.

Don't change these.
