I think they're both ugly as sin. You need to put in hours of work to get either to look good.

so i am using ubuntu, and i don't like how when i click on a window it automatically comes to the top.  in my old window manager you had to click on the top of the window to make it come to the top.

i don't see any way to make gnome behave the way i want.  can kde do it?

Windows looks good without modding it. If you patch the uxtheme.dll and use some of the themes, it's even VASTLY superior than anything Linux has seen.

Still takes hours to get it right, and all the themes I've seen fucking SUCK and are basically a color scheme bad enough to make your eyes bleed, unoriginal window decorations and a horrendous start menu skin.  Wow.  You can dress up a dead mule like a whore, but it's still got maggots in it's guts.

Hours?  Ummm, I don't know what you did but it takes less than 10 minutes.
