Lost HD Space

Name: Anonymous 2006-11-23 22:55

I had 180 gigs of HD Space a few days ago, just last night im down to 70 gigs... Ran Disk Cleanup, System Restore, Defragmented ect ect... when looking through add/remove programs my relatively small torrent client suddenly was listed to take up about 18 gigs or so. Removed it but haven't recovered any space from it so any of you guys know what to do to fix this besides reformating?

have you tried chkdsk /r? i believe it will alert you to lost disk space from deleted or corrupted temp files. if that fails, try scandisk. also, check out Spacemonger (google it), and you should be able to see whats taking up your space.

Overdisk. Displays a concentric ring graph of what's taking up space on your hard drive - ideal for tracking down those bloated, unneeded files.
