Images not opening properly on 4chan

Hi,

I am having problems opening new pictures on 4chan.  I am using the latest version of Firefox.  Every time I click on a picture on the website, it tends to open the image on the same website enlarged instead of opening in a new tab.  Is there a way to resolve this?  Thanks.

ive noticeed that as well 0_o although im still used to right click > open in new tab from old  1.5 ish

well that is the "normal" behavior
the author of the webpage decides how to open a link (be it a page or image file etc) with the "target=" pointer
like
_blank, to dsiplay the clicked link in a new window
_self, to display it in the same window
or _parent and _top for link behavior in frames

although i know what you mean, we Tab-browsing spoiled brats want it in a new tab
so here are the possibilities to fix this

-I use mouse gestures so I just rightclick pull the mouse up to open the image in a new tab (in the background, its configurable, so I can read on while it already loads) or pull down for a new window

I am pretty much a noob when it comes to computers, so if anyone can explain how to resolve this problem, I really appreciate it.  I was about to ask at /g/ but I may get modded so I might as well give it a shot here since I rarely pass by the text boards.
