Name: jennifer 2006-11-18 3:54

hey guys

i set up folders on my windows box to share over our wireless network, which i'd been able to access through 'network' in finder on my macbook.

however, now my windows server doesn't appear in 'network', although i can still access the shared folders through 'recent items'. what's up with that?

i can't RTFM because it didn't come with one! giggle

Hello attractive girl,

Finder is just as shitty at network drives as Windows is, sadly - you can only sometimes expect things to appear in Network.

Solution is to click Go->Connect to Server and enter smb://192.168.1.50 or whatever your server is, then make an alias of that mount for future use. And to hope Apple get their fucking act together for 10.5 because Finder really can be a shit.
