Toshiba Laptop not working

Hey guys, I need some serious help. My Toshiba Laptop doesn't seem to work. I press the power button and it turns blue but nothing happens in the screen. I already tried connecting it and taking the battery off and inserting it again. Any ideas of how to solve this?

Does it sound like it's working? Do the fans and hard drive spin? Does the disk activity light flash as though it was booting? If so, your screen could be shot (inverter gone bad, backlight died). If nothing happens, it could be something simple like a loose cable (dismantle and check all cables are firmly seated), or it could be a dead motherboard (the fix for that is throwing it away, as laptop motherboards are insanely expensive to replace).
