winRAR and iPod.

i have two problems.
first off, i want to be able to put a lock on viewing files in my winRAR archives. i know it can be done, because i've encountered one that required a password. can someone tell me how i can set a password?

second, my iPod is giving me problems. well, less the iPod and more the iTunes. whenever i connect the iPod to the iTunes, it comes up with a message saying that the iPod is corrupted or some shit, and i should reconnect the iPod, or reset the whole damned thing. i seriously do not want to go to the second option, because i would loose all 2000+ songs, that i have collected over the months. my iPod has shown no problems whatsoever, so i don't see how it's corrupted. is there any way to fix this problem without loosing all my music?

to get your music off. Hopefully your ipod isnt screwed up enough that this program wont work. Once you get your shit off the ipod, you can safely format it or whatever to make itunes happy. then use itunes to put the music back on, etc etc.
