my sempron stinks now lol.. i guess conroe?

My little sempron 2800+ kicked ass in gaming.. that is before oblivion came out.

I guess it cannot process all those AI, and when I have the sliders to max, I guess it can't process all the trees and objects and such.

I know this is my problem b/c I can play it at the lowest resolution or 1680x1200 (or whatever)
and still get lag on both.

And I'm sure 2 gigs of ram would help also.

So if I do get like a $200 conroe, how long will it last me in terms of gaming?

Why don't you play at a fucking sane resolution such as 800×600? Gosh, gamers just circle-jerk to stupidly high resolutions and for games to run at that they have to disable pretty much everything, turning them into a super-high-resolution Virtua Racing. I'd rather play 800×600 Oblivion with maximum detail.

I think that the problem might not be your processor, but the videocard.

Do you have a videocard or do you use Integrated Graphics?

I just have a Sempron 3000+ processor, and I use Integrated graphics and sound. (I'm trying to save my money to buy and build my own computer)

It isn't the best set-up in the world, but it can run UT 2004 alright, if you don't mind a little bit of lag.

Unlike person # 2 in this thread, I know you said you tried playing at BOTH those resolutions and got pretty much the same result.

are you fucking kidding me , 2800+ is ancient , dude go buy a dual core 4800+ for 300$ , its fucking awesome , i can fap to three open GRAW's simultaneously and have them cranked to full on 1 gb ram
