Intel setup randomly shutting down

Perhaps I should try this in the right board.

I have an Intel D955XBX motherboard with a P4 965 processor.

The board keeps shutting down as if from a thermal fault.

I have tried both the OEM Intel heat sync and a Zalman P4 heat sync but the machine keeps shutting down when the processor maxes out.

I've verified the problem isn't bad RAM by testing with some known good RAM.

better fan or underclock.

what temperature does your processor run at? you need to know what fucking temperature it is before you start thinking overheating
