Ok I've got a computing running a pirate XP which doesn't even have SP1. The computer fails genuine advantage stuff...how the hell do I update it to SP2?

in regedit theres a key for wga and you delete these files and within 5 sec stop the prosses wgatray you will pass

I found myself a copy of an install disc for SP2 somewhere. it said on the case to "share it with your friends" so I can't imagine it'd be that hard to find a copy of it

Why would you pay full price for Windows at all? Most people I know who put together computers prefer either picking up a corporate version or a pirated version of Windows. They just charge way to fucking much for it.
It might prevent some piracy if they lowered the price. :-\

No simple, direct way to upgrade. SP installer checks for cd key and if it is blacklisted it will refuse. Change cd key won't work either.
Go grep a volumn license version with SP2 integrated and do a fresh install is your only option.
Since you need to reintall anyway, get yourself a win2003 instead of winxp. It is the only uncrippled windows currently in production.

I found SP2 to actually be less anal about cd keys than SP1 was. Try using a keygen instead of an FCKGW key.
