Hard drive destruction

Hey guys what’s a good way to destroy an HD that makes it look accedental to the untrained eye.

I want to destroy mine so I can get my dad to buy a new one with more space on it. I know he wont buy a new one until this one breaks and I’m not spending my money on a new one for reasons that are so off topic that I don’t want to bore you with them.

the yellow wire on the Molex connector is twelve volts, the red one is five volts, the other two are grounds IIRC

While the computer is on, just take a paperclip and short circuit random things on the logic board.  If you're lucky, something will melt.  Don't become an hero via electrocution, though.  Position the hd so it's logic board is facing up, drop the paperclip on top, and move it around with something non-conductive (if needed).
