CD slot bent

Name: Anonymous 2006-10-26 14:41

I have a MacBook Pro....last night I was leaning on the area where the CD slot is and I heard a snapping sound. Now the slot's bent inwards and the CD that's in there won't come out. Is there any way to fix this? Thanks in advance.

There should be an "emergency drive opening" somewhere. You just need a very hard, slim and long thing (not you pen0r) and push it in there (with some force, not easyly)
It'll open a bit and you can pull it out and get the CD. You don't break anything with this, you just do manually what the drive does automatically.

Nice try, except MacBook Pros don't have manual eject holes (fuck Apple and their "make everything look iPod-seamless, even if it means leaving out useful stuff" mentality). And since the drive has been deformed, it probably wouldn't do much good anyway. It's going to require disassembly to retrieve the disc and repair the drive.

Don't change these.
