Audio Delay

Name: Anonymous 2006-10-25 12:46

I'm having problems with my audio being delayed.  I use an external sound card (Sound Blaster Live! External 24bit).  Its connected to a Koss surround sound system via fiber.  The problem is I get a delay of maybe a tweenty-fifth of a second, which is very noticable when playing sound critical games or watching a movie.  With my internal on-board sound card I got between the the tweenty-fifth of a second to half a second delay.

Is this a problem of fiber connections or is there a way I can speed this system up? I'd really like to keep this sound system since its more powerful than any speakers I can hook up directly.

>>1 a tweenty-fifth of a second, which is very noticable
FAIL. If 100-200ms is difficult to detect, then 40ms is damn near impossible.

>>1 between the the tweenty-fifth of a second to half a second
I bet you meant (0.25ms) ¼ to ½ of a second, huh?
FAIL for misuse and misspelling of '1/25th' twice.

Don't change these.
