My sister is an absolute dumbass with bittorrent. Which results in very, VERY bad speeds after I get back from work (at which, I'm already pissed because where I work sucks.) I tried uninstalling it, remote desktop connection (which, unfortunitly, she has Windows XP Home edition, so it doesn't quite work as a server), and even hiding her damn usb wireless network adapter.
I need a way to absolutly either:
1) Completly stop her damn bit torrent program from downloading
or
2) Keep it throttle to the lower speed than ALL OF THE 1.5 MB DSL MODEM BANDWIDTH
Please /comp/, my online speed right now is down to 1 kb/s. :<

I think the best solution is to ask her if you can change her client's settings to limit upload and download speeds. I bought a router that does QoS in the hopes of fixing this, but QoS is fucking useless.
Some routers also let you disable certain ports at certain times of day for certain MAC addresses\IPs, you could do that too.

1. physically disconnect her from the internet
2. buy a router that you can understand
3. block every outgoing port except port 80
4. put yourself in the DMZ
5. plug her internet back in
6. go into her room

Just go and limit her upload speed to like 10kb/s max from her torrent client and block all ports from router, disable upnp. Problem solved, with ports closed it'll be a miracle if she gets any reasonable download speed, and even if it went higher, it won't matter because with upload speed crippled your connection doesn't slow to a crawl.
I get speeds of like 100kb/s or lower with my ports closed on a 12mbit connection.

This sounds like the simplest solution yet. I think I'll just take away her admin rights, make my own admin account, and uninstall bit torrent.
And I have already limited her download/upload speed, and tried explaining why she needs to keep her client from using the entire modem. Unfortunitly, she's a fat fuck, so I may be forced to make the computer near unusable if she doesn't listen.

I'm assuming you're using a wireless router. Just get in the router configuration page and set up a MAC address access filter and filter out her MAC address.
